Director & Producer TJ Walkup, Head of Omnific Pictures, to Cover and Produce Mocktoberfest 2014

TJ WalkupAward-winning cartoonist, published book illustrator and successful musician TJ Walkup of Omnific Pictures has served as a cinematographer and director of a myriad of videos, including work with top tier cable programming such as Discovery, National Geographic, Disney, CNN and the Food Network. He recently announced via Facebook that his production company would be once again hosting the annual event, which will be taking place at the Mira Theatre Guild at 51 Daniels Avenue in Vallejo, California on Saturday, October 25th, 2014.

From the website:

Our goal is to raise money for 10 kids ages 12 to 18, chosen by lottery, to be provided an instrument and 10 lessons in the style of music that they choose.  Our program is already working with area businesses, music teachers, administrators, professionals, and is building partnerships in order to provide music education free of charge to children who will be drawn from a lottery and are offered a place in the program.  We are passionate about making high caliber musicians and instruments accessible to Vallejo’s youth to inspire and excite the creative, positive energy in our city.

Last year’s event included four days on two stages of garage punk, electronic industrial, disco dance punk, and hard core metal music, and an epic visit from special guest Klaus Flouride of the Dead Kennedys. Other performers included Klank, The Sky Bleeds White, Box of Kittens, Shananagens, and Atomic Machines. At the end of the festival, a lucky winner received a grand raffle prize: an ornate, handcrafted electric guitar by Schroom Custom Guitar Works.

A CINE Golden Eagle award winner, Mr. Walkup acknowledges video production as a dynamic story-telling art form. His large range of artistic talents supports the creative process of crafting poignant images with lighting and sound. He has worked on television series, commercials, full-length movies, documentaries and live theater and focuses on the technical aspects of camera use, lighting, sound and editing, treating each equally.

Mr. Walkup is uniquely qualified to oversee a wide range of tasks on behalf of Omnific Pictures, a documentary and television production company. An award-winning cartoonist, published book illustrator and successful musician, Mr. Walkup has been the cinematographer and director on countless videos, including work with top tier cable programming such as Discovery, National Geographic, Disney, CNN and the Food Network.
