Susan FesslerSusan Fessler, a member of the R&B group Get Real, is set to perform on November 22nd at the Bridge Inn Martini Bar in Oley, Pennsylvania. The performance is set to take place at the historic Pleasantville Inn at 8pm.

Susan Fessler has been playing guitar since she was 10 years old and, by the time she was in high school, was playing professionally. She was a founding member of “Olde Spice” in 1977. Susan toured throughout the United States and the Caribbean with the show band “RB and the Gang.” Since returning to Reading, she has continued to perform in local bands and theater. Susan currently spends her work days in the world of sales and marketing and does motivational speaking.

Craig Schollenberger began playing professionally and teaching guitar when he was 16 years old. His father, Saxie Schollenberger was a well-known band leader and teacher in the Reading area. Craig played guitar and electric bass in many local bands and went on to travel, full time, as a musician. He has backed up or played alongside such artists as Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Kool & the Gang and Jr. Walker & the All Stars, to name a few. Craig returned to music full time during the ’80’s, playing, teaching and doing stringed instrument repairs and custom building. He assembled and finished the guitar you see him playing in Get Real.

Her style and flair has complemented the band’s live versions of such heartfelt standards as “I Want to Be in Love” by Melissa Etheridge, and “Love Has No Pride,” by Bonnie Raitt. With an innate passion for entertainment, and speaking to people in various ways, Ms. Fessler works with Mr. Schollenberger to convey countless messages in a language that everyone can enjoy—rock and roll.

Dr. Parrish, a former successful publishing executive, left the field of publishing as a result of what she says was a calling to become a pastor.  She attended Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York while she continued working as a publishing executive. Although she loved her work in publishing, her theological studies as well as her work in the areas of advocacy and social justice took over her life. The event being held on October 17th will give those in attendance an opportunity to get the answers they are seeking that pertain to ministry, and the chance to visit with seminary representatives and to learn how to get a job in ministry, as well.

Now holding 15 years of progressively successful experience, Dr. Parrish, who has been lauded as a pastor, preacher and activist scholar, strives to develop people, churches and institutions for the wellness and promotion of justice and peace. She has become a movement builder, visionary pastor and organizational leader with experience serving as head of nonprofit initiatives, a pastor in both urban and rural settings, and a theologian and adjunct professor. Skilled in ecclesial, organizational and human growth and development, Dr. Parrish is an excellent strategic planner, organizer, mediator and collaborator who encourages and nurtures the leadership qualities in others. Her experience and expertise includes overseeing the fiscal, operational, organizational and programmatic aspects of churches and nonprofits, as well as serving as mediator and counselor to groups and individuals.

Ordained with American Baptist Churches-USA, Dr. Parrish holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from New York University (cum laude), a Master of Social Work from Columbia University (summa cum laude), and a Master of Philosophy, Master of Divinity, and Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Union Theological Seminary. She attributes her successful career to the grace of God and having faith, as well as her tenacity and the support of family.

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Social Work Department to Host Fundraising Movie Night

Jennifer C. Doubell, Worldwide Branding member and Executive Director of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, has spent nearly a quarter of a century serving as a nonprofit executive. At her current post, she is responsible for initiating change management and fundraising projects for the organisation, with a target goal of $32 million. Ms. Doubell oversees the management of the entire program, which includes a team of 18 full-time employees and 10 temporary staff members.

On Sunday, October 19th, Peter Mac will be holding a movie night, screening the film Gone Girl, directed by David Fincher.

Ginny Padula, owner of and designer for Town & Country Kitchen and Bath, will be on hand as her interior design firm revamps a grand estate into a work of art. Between October 9th and November 16th, 2014, the Designer Showhouse of New Jersey, which will be sponsored nationally by Traditional Home magazine, will be open to the general public from 10:00am to 4:00pm (excluding Mondays). Ms. Padula and her firm will be amongst the 25 top interior and landscape designers who will be titivating the estate.

The 2014 Designer Showhouse of New Jersey will be unveiled at a special Preview Party on October 8th and then will be open to the public from October 9th until November 16, 2014. The Showhouse is a magnificent French chateau estate in Saddle River. The 10,000 square foot residence includes a living room, library, dining room, garden room, breakfast room, den, six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and master bedroom with master closet and dressing room. The kitchen and master bath are being completely renovated and redesigned. The fully finished lower level includes a home theatre, music room and “man cave,” with space for the Showhouse boutiques. The cabana, with fireplace and kitchen, is located behind the pool. Approximately 25 top interior and landscape designers from New York and New Jersey will transform this luxurious estate into a decorating masterpiece. The Showhouse Café will be open daily (except Mondays) under the management of Fabulous Foods of Saddle River.
