Although she loved her work in publishing, her theological studies as well as her work in the areas of advocacy and social justice took over her life. The event being held on October 17th will give those in attendance an opportunity to get the answers they are seeking that pertain to ministry, and the chance to visit with seminary representatives and to learn how to get a job in ministry, as well.

Now holding 15 years of progressively successful experience, Dr. Parrish, who has been lauded as a pastor, preacher and activist scholar, strives to develop people, churches and institutions for the wellness and promotion of justice and peace. She has become a movement builder, visionary pastor and organizational leader with experience serving as head of nonprofit initiatives, a pastor in both urban and rural settings, and a theologian and adjunct professor. Skilled in ecclesial, organizational and human growth and development, Dr. Parrish is an excellent strategic planner, organizer, mediator and collaborator who encourages and nurtures the leadership qualities in others. Her experience and expertise includes overseeing the fiscal, operational, organizational and programmatic aspects of churches and nonprofits, as well as serving as mediator and counselor to groups and individuals.

Ordained with American Baptist Churches-USA, Dr. Parrish holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from New York University (cum laude), a Master of Social Work from Columbia University (summa cum laude), and a Master of Philosophy, Master of Divinity, and Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Union Theological Seminary.
